~ Winter Watering ~
Beginning November 1, Plano residents and businesses returned to the winter watering schedule of one day a week sprinkler use. The City of Plano advises that residents turn off automatic sprinklers now that cooler weather has arrived. Most grasses go dormant until spring, which reduces a lawn's need for water. If water is needed, set your sprinklers to run when the temperature is warmer, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m., to avoid icing of streets and sidewalks. Residents can get guidance on when watering is needed with the Water My Yard website.

Odd addresses may water on Tuesday, even addresses may water Thursday. The city of Plano has posted general information on watering here. You can get a watering calendar here. Watering violations can be reported to Fix It Plano.

Newly installed landscapes may be granted a 30-day water variance upon approval. Variances are not required for filling pools/spas. Instructions are available at plano.gov/variances.
